Hi! I'm Suraiya Kara

Suraiya Kara is a multi-disciplinary HR leadership professional with a passion for creating holistically healthy, beneficial, and thriving workplaces. Suraiya is also a nationally Certified Psychological Health &  Safety Advisor for workplaces, and a nationally Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor. With a background in Social Work, Suraiya tends to take a ‘People’ first approach to support the full HR function and does so utilizing an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, feminist, and equitable lens.

Suraiya brings years of experience building and supporting the full talent function, performance management, compensation analysis and benefits, coaching, workplace investigations, training and development, workplace conflict resolution and mediation, and building out numerous workplace culture and wellness programs and initiatives….just to name a few!

Having a background in utilizing a variety of different counseling techniques allows Suraiya to get to know individuals on deeper levels, thus being able to create strong and complimentary teams in the workplace. Suraiya believes that every individual brings value and expertise in their own dimensions and it is important for this to be recognized and further cultivated.

Suraiya truly believes the best organizations are the ones that acknowledge the differences in society and strive to create equity for their people, because ‘Your People are your Culture, and your Culture is your People’
